To Wear or Not to Wear...

Oh dilemmas. I have a job interview next week and I'm really stressing about what I'm going to wear as it's for a fashion based company... I'm excited but also extremely nervous and I've been trying on a few possible outfits tonight, but somehow ended up in the one you see before you...in my favourite red heelies...and a very sheer shirt. Such a hussy. As long as I get sleazy young male interviewers who like to see bras through tops, I may be onto a winner... However, on the other hand, I doubt I'm going to be interviewed by Jay from The Inbetweeners.

However, if I were to wear the top with a nice black cami underneath and black or white blazer I think I could potentially be on to a winner. If not, my wee dress up session has resulted in finding a nice little outfit in general. That was a task I HAD to get done. So much more important than revision.

Do any of you have any advice on what to wear to a job interview?? I've never had any very serious ones before... Any help very much appreciated. x

Shirt: H&M
Leather Trousers: Urban Outfitters
Nails: Nails Inc in Basil Street & Elizabeth Street
Sparkly Nail: Barry M in Yellow Topaz
Red Heels: Primark
Watch: Seiko
Necklace: Vintage

  1. Is your interview to work in a shop? I've worked for a few high street brands and for the interviews I've never really dressed that smart ( some people rolled up in a full suit?!) I just try and wear something that shows a bit of my personal style and maybe include a few items from that particular brand ( one interview even asked us to wear something that 'represents the brand)
I think your shirt with a blazer will look lovely :) because you'll look nice and tidy plus it's really stylish eeeek good luck!!xxx

    1. Thanks lovely!! Your comments are always so constructive and nice! :) haha maybe I should go for the suit look - full tuxedo and top hat?? It's a web based job for a fashion company, writing and a bit of designing I think..! My first real job interview, so scary! I think I might just wear something from their brand... Thanks so much for the advice, so much appreciated. :) x x x x x x x

  3. I used to work for Topshop & for my interview I wore mostly that brand but put my own little twist & style into it.
With a blazer I think your outfit will be perfect. I have those heels but in black they look lovely in red.
Lots of luck for your interview :)

  9. Looks great, I don't think you need to add anything else really but a blazer will still look good. If you get a male interviewer just unbutton the shirt slightly ;) haha. Good luck xxx

  11. i like the necklace you have on
for a job interview, don't show skin--that's my biggest tip
a suit is best but if that's too much then
slacks, plain closed toed heels and a blouse with a collar
    no loud jewelry/perfume/nail polish/makeup
    boring, i know LOL

  12. I have a job interview next week too! I love this outfit, I'd say just dress like a combination of yourself and the company your going for, if that makes sense!!

  13. Hey flower - I love that outfit, so pretty! Also, I love those shoes!!!!! Aaahh. Job interviews are always annoying, you always want to make a good first impression and it's just stressful to say the least! I'd say, wear something you feel comfortable and represents your personality, maybe throw in a little something that's on trend at the moment too.

    Good luck too! :-D
